HoneyComber Club Story

There was a time when I thought that processed, store bought honey in a plastic bear was the only kind of honey out there. I was a very light consumer of this syrupy honey, maybe having a spoonful in tea, but my consumption of processed sugars was fairly high. I’ve got a sweet tooth.

Eventually, I stumbled into tasting raw honey for the first time in 2015. It blew my mind that its flavor and texture could be so different from what was in my pantry. I eagerly shared the bucket I had purchased with friends and family, and life started to shift for me.

At first I merely explored new applications of honey: toast, cheese, salad dressings, replacing processed sugar in baked goods, and even as a skin exfoliant! I started to notice improved energy levels and fewer cravings for the sugary treats I would sneak at late hours (when I had convinced myself unhealthy foods didn’t count). I started to research raw honey, its health benefits, bee behavior & biology, beekeeping, and honey processing. It was a part time obsession, which I finally decided to make a full time job.

With so many family run apiaries in this country, each with their own, unique flavor of raw honey, it was my personal goal to track down and sample as many as I could. But it took a lot of time and effort to find these jewels of raw honey hidden around the country. Personally, I enjoyed the adventure, but I wondered if my friends and family would be more willing to enjoy and benefit from raw honey given an easier way. Then it hit me . . .

How cool would it be to explore the world of raw honey and to share my favorites through an affordable, convenient subscription product? And so HoneyComber Club was born, which conveniently allows me to do what I love most — spread the goodness of raw honey, and support family-owned businesses dedicated to responsible beekeeping practices.
